Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother allowed her to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. The songs she wrote were composed before she learned to read or write. In 8 years, she was playing her first guitar. At age 11, she began to sing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. Gold Band Records is a small, independent label. In high school she was able to establish herself within the local community, however her goals were bigger. On the very day she was able to graduate from the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his syndicated television show. Parton got her first gig in 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, she joined the Grand Ole Opry. The year 1974 was the first when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's show because the success of her own solo records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton wrote I Will Always love You in honor of Wagoner after their breakup. It reached number one. First time, in 1974.
